Keith Dover had been in the comedy game just six months when he won the coveted Hackney Empire New Act of the Year in 1989.
Since then he has gone on to become a regular at The Comedy Store and Jongleurs, as well as headlining at all the comedy clubs and universities around the UK and in London. In 1998 he performed for Jongleurs on the Butlin's cabaret circuit. His appearances on the Alan Davies UK tour in 1999 (featured in a BBC documentary) firmly established him as a large-scale performer who can carry any audience along with him. He has appeared on stage with Lily Savage and Patti Boulaye in front of an audience that included Sir Ian McKellen, the cast of Eastenders and stars of Nil By Mouth.
He has complemented his live work with several radio and television appearances, most notably a blistering set in BBC1's The Stand Up Show, and a video diary of his first one hour solo show at the 1996 Edinburgh Festival for ITV's Funny Business. |
