Jim Grant can be seen either opening or compering bigger clubs, like Big Night Out, Stand and Deliver, GSOH, Purple Cactus, Bound and Gagged.
His performances consist of paid twenty minute sets, all over the United Kingdom for venues such as Alexander Jazz Theatre, The Comedy Junction, The Rib Tickla, Komedia, Royal Stratford Theatre Bar, Gloucester Guild Hall, Wyeside Arts Centre.
He also headlines the bill of other clubs, including Bedford or Pear Shaped, Upstairs at Queens Head and Electric Mouse.
Jim Grant is also an excellent compere.
A vast majority of the venues, that have seen his set, have requested him to return to MC. His fluid movement between MC and set has earned him the respect of his peers. This is due to his years of experience successfully running and compering several comedy clubs, his 1st being in his hometown of Eastbourne. This has been one of Jim’s major ventures since finishing runner up in the regional finals of the Daily Telegraph Award in 2001.
Over the years he has seen and compered every conceivable audience. These range from the east end of London, to northern working men’s clubs, and black tie formal dinners. He has even performed a gig on a metal platform, suspended above a shark tank when he compered the Brighton Fringe Festival opening gala in 2005. It is this MC experience, combined with a warm and friendly persona, innovative material that helps make Jim such a bookable opening act. He also has professional nature as a comedian and promoter, for which he prides himself on never cancelling a gig. He has also been a regular team captain on a live performance comedy panel game for over a year.
