"Wishful Thinking" (previously known as "Special Offer") is a professional 4-piece band, consisting of drums, keyboards, guitar and female vocalist, although all are lead/harmony vocalists in their own right. Individually and as a band, the members possess a wide and varied experience in most areas of popular music, ranging from standards through to pop and modern dance. The female vocalist, Yvonne Newman, has appeared in stage shows such as The Blues Brothers, on TV shows, and is a well-known recording session singer.

"Wishful Thinking" has played a variety of venues both at home and abroad including premier hotels, nightclubs, corporate, masonic and charity functions, weddings, private parties and military bases both in the UK and Europe. They have also worked extensively aboard cruise liners such as the QE2.

"Wishful Thinking" is also available as a 3-piece (without female vocalist).
